Stark Steel
INTRODUCTION
- STARK STEEL are Micro Alloyed High Tensile STEEL RODS.
- These Rods are Cold Drawn & Stress Relieved by heat treatment for Improved Yield Strength.
- HIGH TENSILE STEEL RODS are TWISTED with each other forming a SINGLE STARK STEEL ROD.
PURPOSE
- Major challenges of the construction industry : high cost & consumption of steel.
- Solution : stark steel is a smart & sustainable solution.
- Replacement of tmt bars, steel fibers & weldmesh with stark steel rods for concrete elements
- Improve strength & reduce cost of construction.

PUNCHING SHEAR TEST SET UP
- What we propose: The use of STARK STEEL as Reinforcement , by REPLACING the conventional TMT Bars, Steel Fibres, Weld Mesh with our STARK STEEL Rods
- STARK STEEL can be used as Reinforcement for CONCRETE FLOOR SLABS as per TR 34 4th Edition or IS 456 Standards
- Tests Conducted: Four slabs each of size 1mtr x 1mtr x 170mm & 1mtr x 1mtr x 150mm were casted. We subject the Concrete Slabs to PUNCHING / POINT LOAD testing method. The tests were conducted at IIT Hyderabad under the supervision of the respected Dr . S. SURIYA PRAKASH, Professor Dept. of Civil Engineering, IIT Hyderabad. The results were;

SOME OF OUR PROJECTS & CLIENTS

DECK & MEZANINE CONCRETE FLOORING
- There has been a steep rise in the Use of PRE-ENGINEERED BUILDING STRUCTURES for COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS.
- These buildings make use of Decking Sheets for the Concrete Flooring Slab support.
- What we propose : The use of STARK STEEL as Re-inforcement , by REPLACING the conventional 8mm TMT Bars in the DECK or MEZANINE Concrete Floor slab.
WEIGHT COMPARISON
| Parameter | STARK STEEL RODS | 8.0 mm dia. Hot Rolled TMT Steel Bar Grade Fe-500 | 10.0 mm dia. Hot Rolled TMT Steel Bar Grade Fe-500 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grams per Metre (approx) | 165 grams | 395 grams | 620 grams |
| Metre per 1Kg | 6 mtrs/1Kg | 2.5 mtrs/1Kg | 1.6 mtrs/1Kg |
- Stark Steel saves 40% on cost of steel and an additional 5% on wastage of TMT bars.
- Saves labour cost up to 20%.
- No steel wasted in lapping.
In terms of tonnage
- The weight ratio of 8mm V/s STARK STEEL is 3 : 1
- The weight ratio of 10mm V/s STARK STEEL is 5 : 1
- Suppose you have a requirement of 8mm TMT – 3 Mt this can be fulfilled by using STARK STEEL – 1Mt
- Suppose you have a requirement of 10mm TMT – 5 Mt this can be fulfilled by using STARK STEEL – 1Mt
